Question to the Expert
When I open several tabs in Google Chrome and then go back to the first tab, it reloads. Can I disable auto-refresh in Chrome so that I don't waste time waiting for content to load?

Thanks to auto-refresh, users always see only current content. You can disable the auto-refresh function by using extensions.
  • Disable automatic tab discarding. The extension has versions in English and Spanish. The extension prevents the browser from refreshing open tabs in automatic mode.
  • The Great Suspender Original. In the settings, you can deactivate the automatic refresh function or select the frequency of page reloading.

If you’re wondering how to stop pages in Google Chrome from auto refreshing, find one of the listed extensions in the Chrome Web Store and click the “Add to Chrome” button. To open the installed extension, click on the “puzzle” icon in the corner of the browser page and select the desired extension.
